Ending UK CAA acceptance of EU/EASA issued certificates, approvals and licences at the end of 2022

If you are a holder of EASA approvals and personnel licences, you will need to apply to the UK CAA to obtain the UK equivalent approvals and licences required to continue providing services to UK organisations and operating or providing maintenance for UK registered aircraft.

Currently, a smaller number than expected of Part 145/component/C rated companies that support GA aircraft have applied for a UK approval. This is especially the case if the organisation is based outside of the UK and may be less aware of the coming changes.

Those that may be affected include:

  • Maintenance, repair and overhaul organisations; Part-145 and Part-CAO (aircraft and/or component rated);
  • Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations ; Part-CAO and Part-CAMO;
  • Training organisations;
  • Pilots; and
  • Engineers.

The UK CAA have put in place a streamlined application process ahead of the change to help organisations.
